You know the way. You know the truth. You know the life.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

John 14:6-7

You know the way, Jesus says, because you know me.

I am the Way. I Am the Way to the Father. More than that, I am the very Truth incarnate. I am the Life of God. If you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father–I Am the I Am.

You know the Father because you know me. Let not your hearts be troubled, friends! If you know Jesus, you know God Almighty. If you follow Jesus, you know the way of true religion; the way that ends in the presence of the creator. If you follow Jesus, you have the truth in a world of competing truth claims.

Because Jesus is the truth, you have a north star for your intellect and imagination. You don’t have to search for your truth because the truth has revealed himself to us. This is liberating; this is freeing! In a world of competing ideologies, we have Jesus–the Truth incarnate who through his Word and by his Spirit instructs and indwells his body, the Church.

Because Jesus is the Truth, we believe the claims he makes–all of them! When he says he is the way; he means he is the way. No one gets to the Father except through me. The only way to a right relationship with Almighty God the Creator of all is through Jesus–the One Mediator between God and man. Jesus is the way of salvation; the way of redemption; the way to glory.

Jesus is the Source of Life. He alone is able to offer eternal and abundant life because he alone is the source of life. In him was light and that light was the life of man.

How do we know what’s true? Look to Jesus.

How do we know how to live? Look to Jesus.

How do we know what is true, good, and beautiful? Look to Jesus.

Let not your heart be troubled. You have a home. And you know how to get there! You know the way. You know the truth. You know the life. You know Jesus.

We can live with hope in hopeless days. We can live with light in dark days. We can live with peace in turbulent days. We can live with clarity in disillusioning days. Because we have Jesus.

Don’t give up on him yet. You know he hasn’t given up on you.
